Funnier in My Head

Jokes, puns, innuendos, and witty sayings often leave us snickering, chuckling, or completely doubled over in laughter. All too often, though, we stop mid-laugh when the only other noise we hear is silence. Overcome with immediate embarrassment and awkwardness, we realize that perhaps our little joke wasn't so funny - if the failure of anyone to join in on the laughter wasn't a sure sign, the blank, questioning stares certainly make us question our comedic talents. In this blog, I'd like to look at daily examples of failed attempts to make others laugh, examining why something that is so hilarious to one person fails to elicit a similar response in others.
